Impact Hearing makes use of a variety of hearing aids including ranges from INTERTON and RESOUND, and SONIC INNOVATIONS, produced in Denmark and the USA respectively. The products are supported by trained staff, locally and overseas to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Impact Hearing Practice follows a strict protocol during the fitting and adjustment of hearing aids thus ensuring the best
results to all our clients. Customer Satisfaction is our priority.
We also promote and train our customers in the correct care and use of hearing aids through the use of dehumidifiers and
batteries, ensuring they last as long as possible.

High standard hearing aids improve the quality of life of a person with a hearing loss and our vision is to provide each and every individual with the highest of standards.

CAUSES OF HEARING LOSS
There are many possible causes of hearing loss. These can be divided into two basic types, called conductive and
sensorineural hearing loss.

Sensorineural hearing loss is due to damage to the pathway that sound impulses take from the hair cells of the inner ear to the auditory nerve and the brain.
Possible causes of this include age-related hearing loss, acoustic trauma (caused by loud noise), certain viral and bacterial infections (e.g. meningitis), exposure to
certain drugs (e.g. powerful anti-biotics), Ménière's disease (which causes dizziness, tinnitus, and hearing loss), and certain tumours.

Conductive hearing loss is caused by anything that interferes with the transmission of sound from the outer to the inner ear.
