From Hazyview, the tour begins as it climbs towards the town of Graskop, and the southernmost point of the Blyde River Canyon. The Panorama Tours encompasses some spectacular scenery, with breathtaking views of the Blyde River Canyon, and out over the endless Lowveld beyond. We take guests along the edge of the escarpment, to look out points offering magnificent views, including God’s Window, Wonderview and the Three Rondawels. Along the route we visit the famous Bourkes Luck Potholes – deep cylindrical cavaties formed by thousands of years of water erosion at the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. Pilgrim’s Rest is well worth a visit. This old mining town was established during the heady days of the gold rush in the late 1800′s and the whole town is now lovingly preserved as a national monument.

At lunch time the tour will stop back in Graskop so that guests can have lunch at a restaurant, and if time permits, can spend a while browsing in local shops or along the pavements. Street vendors sell an amazing variety of goods – from nuts and fruit to beaded necklaces and carved wooden animals. Near Graskop, where numerous waterfalls tumble down the mountains, we will visit the beautiful Berlin Falls and Lisbon Falls on the way back to Hazyview.

A night safari tour in the Kruger National Park gives guests an unforgettable evening in the bush. The spotlight on the open safari vehicle allows guests to see shy, nocturnal animals, seldom seen during the day. Shangana Cultural Village evening festival
Venture back in time and spend an evening in the Shangana Cultural Village with the residents of Shangana tribe. The traditional villages are set in a reserve of forest and grassland, overlooking the valley, and nestled in the shade of ancient umbhaba trees. We take our guests early enough to have some time to browse through the market where residents make and trade their craft. Guests will also meet the chief and some members of his extended family, and visit the Sangoma, an important personage in the village! As the sun sets behind the mountains, drums beat in the Chief’s Kraal, to announce the arrival of torch lit processions of choirs and dancers, who use song and dance to tell the story of their culture and history. The Royal feast follows, and is a celebration of traditional food served in open sided huts by Shangaan hostesses.
